Who is mimble?
We are a team of people helping others have more extraordinary experiences through financial empowerment. We believe that the world of money is changing rapidly and tomorrow’s leaders will be the ones who understand the value of connecting money to the important things in life.
Portland, Oregon is our home and base of operations, though we’re world travelers who value diversity in its broadest form. Customers and people are deeply important--after all, life is about the experiences we share, not the money we earn.
We are building a company that empowers employees, investors, and users to make the most out of life regardless of socioeconomic status, race, gender, or location. A company where people love to work, are fairly compensated, and invested in improving their local community. A place that helps people grow as humans while they grow their career.
How do we help people?
That varies from person to person. For some, it’s about maximizing vacation experiences and frequency. (Let’s be real, that’s important to most people.) For others, we’ll guide them on a major journey, such as buying a home or getting out of debt.
Regardless of your goal, it can be really difficult to figure out how to make your money work for you as a unique human being. That’s where we come in. We want you to live a life that’s truly rich and fulfilling, and specific to you.
We understand that not everyone is going to want to retire early. Many people are searching for fulfilling careers, so work doesn’t feel like work. (We feel you there.) If that’s you, then don’t feel guilty if you spend a bit more time (& money) having fun in your youth. There are a ton of memories you can make in your 20s & 30s that you’ll look back on without regret as your priorities change with age. Plus, earning power generally increases with age, which can offset missed compounding interest. (No worries if you don’t know what that is, we’ll explain how you can use compounding interest to make your money work for you in future posts.)
As you know, there’s not a single, “right” way to live life.
What we care about is making sure that you understand the impact of your financial decisions, so that you can make the best choice for you—not the financial advisor or a bank or your neighbor or your dad—for you.
Why do we care?
Because the world is a better and more enjoyable place when people are happy. Reducing financial uncertainty leads to more enjoyment. It’s fun to spend time with loved ones when money enables, not hinders.
In general, we believe that money is portrayed as the end point, when in reality it’s a means to an end. And that ‘end’ is unique to the individual.
How did we get here?
We’re not completely sure. We have both prioritized experiences over stuff, having each traveled to more than 20 countries. As deeply curious humans, we have developed a number of hobbies and passions. Holger, our CTO, is a pilot of single-prop planes and Chad, our CEO, lived for a year in Spain to study and get an MBA. We have experienced similar frustrations with the financial industry’s inability to connect to our needs. So, after hatching an idea to build something more suited to our tastes, we founded mimble and here we are today.
The mimble app is in development and launching soon. It is a platform that connects savers to brand partners who want to reward people for saving before buying. Through our app, you will be able to amplify your savings. That might be saving $100 in cash toward your goal while receiving a $125 of value. For the same amount of YOUR money that you were already going to spend, you get more money to apply to your goal.
We think it’s exciting and if you do too, please sign up today and be a part of the journey!
